Safer spaces on the floor
Awareness teams, door policies and codes of conduct: what a venue should have in place, and what to do when something goes wrong on the night.
A safer space is not a poster on the wall. It is a trained awareness team, a door policy the staff actually enforce, and someone reachable at 4am when something happens.
What to look for
- A named awareness contact working the night.
- A written code of conduct, and staff who know it.
- A plan for getting someone home safely.
